Out with the old and in with the new
The Charter Company team has grown so much in the last couple of years our old offices were literally bursting at the seams! So, last month we packed our bags and moved to large contemporary offices just around the corner. Right in the heart of bustling Holborn in central London, and only a few minutes walk from trendy Covent Garden, our new offices have been fitted out to our exact specifications with up-to-the-minute IT equipment and cool, contemporary furniture.
With a square footage three times that of our previous premises, we now have a meeting facility, large kitchen and enough room to grow the team even further in the future. Our new address is: 84 Kingsway, London WC2B 6AE but our phone number remains the same.
If you're in the area - come in and see us. |

Onwards and upwards!
The weather may
not have broken any records this summer but The Charter Company certainly did! Compared to the same period last year there was a 46% increase in the number of flights booked and 60% increase in revenues.
We booked many
more leisure flights this year, as our clients opted for the calm luxury of a private aircraft, at the start of their well-deserved break, rather than the hassles and queues at an
international airport.

Swiss
Global Express
One of our
Middle Eastern clients requested a new Global Express XRS recently for a flight to North Africa and then onto Europe. Julian sourced
the ultra long-range, high-speed business jet from a Swiss operator, and our client was happy
to the ferry the aircraft to Oman before flying to Morocco and then Switzerland a few days later.
The passengers
requested specific catering which we were happy to supply. And our client was pleased to be able to smoke onboard.

Rapid response
from TCC
When a
client’s Falcon 900EX started developing technical problem en route to the US for an urgent meeting,
his corporate flight department called The Charter Company
immediately to arrange a replacement aircraft.
Jeffrey speedily organised an
American Gulfstream IV-SP and crew, and the passengers were airborne and on their way to New York in just over 2 hours from us receiving confirmation. Our client’s flight department
were delighted at our international rescue.

New team member onboard
The Charter
Company celebrated another record breaking year by welcoming to the team.
Melissa has a
huge amount of experience in aviation; starting her career as an air traffic assistant at London Air Traffic Control. This role enabled her to gain good overall knowledge of flight safety,
operations, and flight planning. In 2002 she moved to Bombardier Skyjet International as an operations controller, and quickly developed a good knowledge of all areas of the business aviation
industry.
She is excited
to be joining The Charter Company, where she can "use my previous knowledge and experience in my new role”.
As part of our
expansion has been promoted to Charter Sales Director and has been promoted to Senior
Charter Manager. Congratulations! |

Miami Heat
This month we had a client who needed a flight from Paris to Miami – to pick up his own aircraft! As there was a budget to consider Jeffrey found a Gulfstream V that was dropping off passengers in Zurich before returning to West Palm Beach, FL. And as we managed to book the aircraft for less than $90,000.00 the client was thrilled.
The Charter Company of course made all the necessary catering arrangements. And also forwarded the passenger US visas and passport information for pre-clearance at
the dedicated Signature Flight Support terminal in Miami.

Havana Nights
When two passengers wanted to fly from
Providenciales, Turks & Caicos to Havana, Cuba for a cigar
convention, we knew we’d have to pull out all the stops to make the flight happen.
Because of the political situation,
it’s impossible for a US registered aircraft to operate into Cuba. Cuban Civil Aviation has also been known to turn charter aircraft back, even if the operator has a valid landing
permit!
So TCC sourced a local operator who had been
to Cuba over 100 times and, due to their extensive contacts, guaranteed that they would not be turned back. We chartered a Citation II, which
flew the passengers in comfort and style and they landed in Havana, with no problems, in less than two hours.

Mumbai flight for multi-billion deal
Earlier this month, Jeffrey received an urgent phone call from a clients’ flight department requesting an aircraft to India as soon as possible. It turns out
our client had just completed a multi-billion dollar deal and
needed to fly the CEO and other board members to India to finalize the arrangements.
We sourced a Gulfstream V which happened to be in London Luton with its owner - although the crew were in Zurich! So,
as soon as the flight was confirmed the crew flew into London in time for the 7pm departure that evening.
As well as stopping in Barcelona to collect more board members, the trip also included flights to Delhi and Mumbai. In fact the client changed their schedule several
times whilst on the trip. Jeffrey was, of course, happy to make these last minute arrangements and the client was delighted with the flight and service.

Winter sunshine
extravaganza
A yacht in the Caribbean is
a great place to celebrate Christmas and New Year. So it came as no surprise when a client asked to arrange not one, but two flights to this fabulous holiday destination.
Our client was planning a
two week break for close family and friends, followed by an exclusive party for 29 guests to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Jeanne Zeitlyn worked closely with the client and organised a Falcon 900EX to fly the smaller family group to their yacht based in St Martin, and a VIP 757 executive airliner to fly the larger party for the New Year’s
celebration.
Jeanne was at Farnborough to
meet the VIP passengers and to ensure that all went smoothly with the Falcon flight. She even arranged a last-minute detour to New York for a shopping trip when it was discovered the yacht
would be delayed by two days!
The VIP 757 executive
airliner, with a business class configuration for 48, was chosen to fly the 29 guests for the New Year celebration. Among the passengers were the DJ and band, and a film crew to document the
trip.
Jeanne saw the passengers off
from Stansted, and arranged a large selection of entertainment for the guests including, newspapers, magazines and DVD’s. And we also ensured the company logo was printed on the menus
as well as the aircraft’s TV screens.
The party started the moment
the passengers boarded with one of the band members performing live music, and continued well into the New Year. Happy 2007!

Family on the Goa
A family of five enjoyed a
warm and relaxing Christmas and New Year when
they toured the beautiful beaches of India and the Maldives during the holiday break.
Jeffrey Emmenis, who
organised the flight, sourced a brand new Hawker 850XP, a midsize executive jet, which collected the
passengers from Dubai Airport before flying the family on to the Indian resorts of Goa, Cochin and Madurai. The passengers then flew on to the islands of Maldives to see in 2007.
Special catering was
required which we were happy to arrange. And we were pleased to organise the VIP transfers from their European scheduled flight.

Barmy Army on the move
Despite England’s demise in the Ashes series, 100 members of the Barmy Army celebrated New Year’s Eve in style when they flew from Melbourne to Sydney for
the 5th test.
The passengers had been following the team around Australia and consequently had a lot of luggage. So Julian Burrell, who organised
the flight on a Fokker 100, made sure there were porters at Melbourne to help with the baggage, and that there were at least three desks open for a speedy check-in.
The one or two beers consumed on-board raised the Barmy Army’s spirits and they were well looked after by the ex-pat flight
attendant who was thrilled to be flying with her fellow countrymen. Roll-on 2009!
