No economic slow down at TCC Team changes at TCC
Maria Asp is the latest addition to The Charter Company's London team.

She has tremendous experience in the aviation industry; her most recent position was a flight planner for Jeppesen. Prior to that, she worked in flight operations for Avcard; as a flight attendant for Air Atlanta; and in ground operations for a handling agent in Stockholm, her home town.

As well as Swedish and English, Maria is fluent in Spanish having lived in Spain for three years. And she's a keen traveller, hopping on a plane whenever she can. Her interests include horse riding, eating out with friends and shopping.

We hope Maria has a happy and successful career with The Charter Company.

We'd also like to wish Jeffrey Emmenis good luck in his new position. After many years as a charter broker, Jeff wanted to broaden his aviation experience. Consequently, he has joined a Swiss aircraft operator, based in Zurich, as a key account manager responsible for large executive jets.

The good news is we still get to work with him on a weekly basis! The Charter Company would like to thank Jeff for all his hard work and commitment over the last three years and we wish him all the best in his new role.

Lastly, we're pleased to announce that has been promoted to Charter Sales Manager and or has been promoted to Marketing Senior Executive. Congratulations ladies. We know you'll both continue to do an outstanding job in your new positions.

No economic slow down at TCC Falcons take flight
We had a bit of a logistical challenge this month when a Middle East client contacted us requesting a flight from the UAE to Tunisia. The passengers? 120 people and 40 birds!

It turns out our client needed to fly to Tunisia with 40 falcons to make preparations for the Royal Family's annual hunting season. We had only two days to organise the 7 hour flight and all the overflight permits. And we had to find an aircraft which could comfortably accommodate all the passengers and their feathered friends.

We chose a 167-seater MD-83 which allowed the passengers space to stretch out. Although we understand the falcons kept their seatbelts on for the duration of the flight.

For more information on this flight please contact Julian Burrell.

The Charter Company takes on Flight Management The Charter Company takes on Flight Management
London-based The Charter Company has recruited Neil Turnbull, owner of UK-based air charter brokerage Flight Management, to further expand its operations.

As a result of Neil's recruitment, The Charter Company has taken over the activities of Flight Management and will be integrating client lists over the coming months. Neil Turnbull, a well known and respected figure in the industry, has more than 20 years experience in aviation - both as a pilot in operations and running a charter brokerage. He takes up the newly-created position of President with The Charter Company.

Charter Sales Director Julian Burrell said: "Neil has a tremendous amount of experience and is a perfect candidate to broaden our offering. Few others can offer his genuine understanding of the services available and the operational requirements for aircraft."

Neil said: "I am delighted to join forces with The Charter Company, where I'm looking forward to helping drive their expansion plans for the business."

No economic slow down at TCC No economic slow down at TCC
Despite the Chancellor's gloom and despondency regarding the economy, TCC was busier than ever this summer.

In the last few months, the team booked a staggering 120 flights with a turnover exceeding £4.9 million.

Flights were split evenly between business and leisure but we did see an upsurge in the use of heavy jets and executive airliners. The most popular heavy jet was the Challenger 604 which seats up to ten passengers and is suitable for transatlantic flights. Of the executive airliners, the Airbus 318 Elite/Airbus Corporate Jet was booked most frequently.

The board and management would like to personally extend their thanks to all the team members for their hard work over this exceptionally busy period.

Approaching Funafati Atoll's short runway Warm welcome from Islanders
There are welcomes. And then there are memorable welcomes; which is exactly what our crew and passengers received during a recent charter to the South Pacific.

Our clients, from a humanitarian organisation, were given a traditional greeting when landing in the Solomon Islands; part of a twelve day charter which took in eight of the regions islands.

We considered several different aircraft for this challenging trip, which started in Europe, went via the Middle East, on to the South Pacific before ending up in Asia. We needed an aircraft which could fly long distances as well as land on short runways, including the one at Funafuti Atoll the capital of Tuvalu: one of the smallest countries in the world with a runway to match!

Our crew receive a warm welcome from Islanders With that in mind, we opted for the Falcon 900 three engine jet. The Falcon also allowed each of the six passengers to sleep on a flat bed during the longest part of the journey (15 hours) from the Middle East to Port Moresby (Papau New Guinea).

As usual, the team at TCC flight watched every leg of the trip to ensure everything went smoothly.

Catering was individually tailored for the multi-national group of passengers who were "delighted" with every aspect of their flights.

What a great start to 2008! What a great start to 2008!
January was our best month ever with a record number of bookings and a turnover in excess of £1.5 million. The majority of these flights were with regular clients and we're pleased that so many of our customers choose to fly with us time and time again.

We also welcomed a new addition to our team of charter experts in the shape of Conan McGale. Conan has a wealth of experience in the VIP air charter sector, especially in the Russian market. TCC and Twinjet welcome Conan to the team.

Conan.
